Press images of the Sony Xperia tablet were leaked today just weeks before the device will be unveiled by the company at IFA in September.
The shots surfaced on the internet shortly after leaked slides of the tablet showed up on a German website earlier in the week.
The high-res leaks were first spotted by Android Guys, who found them in the XDA Developers Forum. The forum’s contributor listed some of the specifications for the device that included a Tegra3 CPU, 1-megapixel front-facing camera, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 6000 mAh battery, and a magnesium aluminum alloy body.
Sony will release a 16GB variant of the Xperia tablet for $399.99, a 32GB model for $499.99, and a 64GB model for $599.99 in the coming months. But those prices could end up being higher when the device is released, according to other reports.
Other rumored specs include Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and an 8.8mm aluminum shell that is almost twice as thin as Sony’s Tablet S.
“The slim design is certainly a draw, but that dramatic bezel pictured about is a completely different story,” said 9to5Google regarding Sony’s choice of design for the tablet.

The device is also expected to have a 9.4-inch display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.
The Xperia tablet will run on Timescape UI and should be officially revealed in Berlins at IFA.
Sony appears to be trying to create an iPad competitor with this device since it seems to feature top-of-the-line specs and does not have a smaller 7-inch screen.
By the time it is finally released, the Xperia could end up running Android 4.1, JellyBean, and the 3G capability could get bumped up to 4G LTE since it would need to be in order to truly compete with the iPad.
